Arlington Heights, Ill., May 24, 2017 – The Academy of Osseointegration’s (AO) “Ask the Experts” live webinar series has seen a more than three-fold increase in the number of offerings since its inception and is scheduled to grow even more.
Initiated in 2015 to extend the shelf life and expand the reach of AO Annual Meeting presentations, the webinar series has appealed to general practitioners, specialists, young clinicians, educators, students, residents and allied staff– all types of dental professionals who place implants or refer patients to implant placement. Participants of the live sessions receive cutting-edge, evidence-based insights, continuing education, and the opportunity to interact in real time with the speakers.
Since offering four webinars in its inaugural year, AO has scheduled 15 live sessions for this year and anticipates 20 more will be offered in 2018.
“AO has awarded more than 300 hours of CE credit to over 150 participants of the webinar program since January 2016,” said Dr. Daniel Taub, chair of the AO Website and Online Education Committee. “To make this program even more effective, we have also solicited feedback from students and residents about potential future topics and are working in conjunction with Dr. Amerian Sones to offer programming that fits the requirements of the AO Certificate in Implant Dentistry.”
Up to 90 days following the initial live session date, participants can view each webinar on-demand and earn one hour of ADA CERP credit. After that time, access to all previously recorded webinars, as well as past Annual Meeting presentations is provided via archive. While the webinars and archives are offered as a complementary benefit of AO membership, they are also available to non-members at a nominal cost.
Coming up next in the 2017 schedule are: “Guided Implant Surgery and CAD/CAM Restorations: The Digital Work Flow for Scan Bodies, Abutments and Ceramic Restorations” presented by James Stein, DMD on June 9 and “Vertical Augmentation: Myth Versus Reality” with Bach Le, DDS, MD, on June 21.
