Dental Intelligence launched DI Voice, a voice-over-internet-protocol (VoIP) phone system integrated directly into its practice performance platform, allowing dental practices to manage patient calls, voicemails, and follow-up communications within a single system.
The new service connects telephone activity with patient records and practice workflows, eliminating the need for a separate phone service provider, according to a press release. The system includes call recordings, transcripts, summaries, and sentiment analysis to help dental teams manage patient interactions and identify follow-up needs.
The platform's Call Pop feature identifies incoming callers before staff answer the phone, while Click-to-Call allows team members to place outgoing calls directly from a patient's record. Each call is automatically logged with a recording, transcript, summary, and sentiment information. The system also provides notifications for missed calls and voicemails.
"Practices told us loud and clear: they wanted their phones where their patients already are," Dan Larsen, chief product officer at Dental Intelligence said in the release. "DI Voice puts every call, voicemail, and missed call right inside the patient record. The front desk sees who's calling, what was said last time and what needs to happen next, all without leaving DI."
The system also integrates with Dental Intelligence's AI Receptionist, allowing practices to route calls to the automated service during off-hours. This feature is intended to extend telephone coverage beyond regular office hours.
Dental practices can manage phone system settings through the DI Voice portal, including user accounts, devices, and phone numbers. Administrative features include customizable dial plans, ring groups, call queues, and scheduling options for regular business hours, holidays, and after-hours routing.
For multi-location practices, the system supports centralized management through a single account. Additional capabilities include call quality monitoring, call logs, and fax support. Dental Intelligence said several telephone hardware options are available at launch and that many practices may be able to use their existing phones with the new system.
The company's existing cloud-based platform combines practice performance analytics, revenue cycle management, appointment scheduling, automated patient reminders, two-way texting, email marketing, and other patient communication tools.
