Immersify Education has launched PADE (Patient Activation and Digital Education), a platform that provides patients with visual information about recommended dental treatments and allows them to communicate scheduling preferences to their dental practices after appointments, according to the company.
Patients can access PADE through a QR code provided at the dental practice or a link distributed by text message or email. Educational materials can be reviewed at the practice or remotely following an appointment. Patients who wish to proceed with treatment can submit a preferred appointment date and questions for the clinical team. The practice then receives an email notification containing the submitted information, allowing administrative staff to contact the patient regarding scheduling.
According to Immersify, PADE functions independently of existing practice management systems and does not require software integration, server installation, or access to practice databases. The company stated that the platform does not retrieve existing patient records and that all information is submitted directly by patients. Immersify stated that PADE operates outside the scope of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requirements and does not require a Business Associate Agreement.
Chloë Barrett, founder and CEO of Immersify Education, said, “PADE moves the explaining to a moment when the patient can actually absorb it, and then gives them a way to act on it.”
PADE is available to dental practices and dental service organizations in the United States and United Kingdom. The platform uses a monthly, per-practice pricing model without initial setup fees or charges based on the number of dental chairs. Dental groups and dental service organizations are eligible for a 30-day free trial.
The company develops clinical and nonclinical educational technologies for health care. Immersify reported that its platform has more than 310,000 users.
