3DDX has introduced 3DDX AI Planning, an artificial intelligence-assisted implant planning system that combines automated case preparation with clinical review by the company’s in-house dentists.
Integrated into the 3DDX Connect platform, the system generates a proposed implant plan following case upload. According to the company, the process takes minutes and includes a three-dimensional rendering, nerve segmentation, virtual crowns, and a proposed implant plan for clinician review.
Treating dentists can refine the proposed plan independently and present it to patients. They can also schedule an online planning session with a 3DDX dentist when additional consultation is needed. Every plan undergoes validation by a 3DDX dentist before proceeding to fabrication, and the treating dentist retains responsibility for final clinical decisions and approval.
Once the plan is approved, the case can move to surgical guide production. According to 3DDX, guides can be manufactured in as little as two days, while STL files for in-office 3D printing can be returned within two hours. The company states that cases submitted through AI Planning receive priority in production.
The platform also allows clinicians to request temporary restorations, custom abutments, healing abutments, and crowns associated with the approved implant plan. These services are intended to connect implant planning, guided surgery, and restorative fabrication within the same workflow.
“We’ve spent years watching where clinicians and planning teams actually lose time, and most of it goes into the groundwork before any clinical decision is made,” said Khaled ElSaid, CEO of 3DDX. “AI is here to assist clinicians by taking that work on, right inside 3DDX Connect where our customers already work every day. Because a 3DDX dentist reviews every case, clinicians reach surgery sooner, work more efficiently and spend less, while keeping the human touch they’ve always counted on from 3DDX.”
3DDX, also known as 3D Diagnostix, is a digital dental laboratory providing implant planning, guided surgery, and restorative services. Its offerings include single-tooth restorations, full-arch rehabilitation, provisional restorations, and final prosthetics, supported by CAD/CAM technology for design and manufacturing.
3DDX AI Planning is available now for eligible cases through 3DDX Connect. More information is available at www.3ddx.com.
