Garrison Dental Solutions has introduced ProxiBur IPR burs, a system designed for interproximal reduction (IPR) during clear aligner therapy and other orthodontic workflows.
According to the company, the system was developed as an alternative to conventional diamond burs, discs, and abrasive strips. Garrison states that conventional burs and discs can make reductions greater than 0.30 mm difficult to control accurately, while abrasive strips can require additional time and effort.
ProxiBur IPR includes an assortment of thickness-specific burs designed to create specified amounts of interproximal space. The burs are organized in a bur block with marked thickness designations to assist clinicians in selecting the intended reduction amount.
The system is also designed for use with Garrison’s FitStrip IPR strips, allowing clinicians to use ProxiBur burs for gross interproximal reduction and FitStrip products for controlled reduction and finishing.
ProxiBur IPR burs are now available. Garrison Dental Solutions develops products for restorative dentistry and has operated for more than 25 years.
