A new podcast series focused on dental research and clinical practice has been launched for oral health professionals. The 2026 edition of Let’s Talk Oral Health brings together international experts to discuss topics including periodontal medicine, oral microbiome balance, and the evolving role of dental hygienists.
Developed by Sunstar brand GUM, the series features contributions from Wim Teughels, Crystal Marruganti, Brittany Glauz, and Bruno Loos. Each episode runs between 45 minutes and one hour and presents clinical insights and research findings intended to support application in daily practice, prevention planning, and patient communication.
The series is hosted by Rachel Chau, global head of medical and clinical affairs, and Martijn Verhulst, medical affairs lead at Sunstar. “We’re very pleased to launch our Let’s Talk Oral Health series with these globally recognized experts who each bring their specialist insight and research knowledge to modern periodontal medicine and signify the crucial role of daily oral care rituals for healthier gums, mouths and our systemic health,” they said in a press release.
One episode features Glauz, a practicing dental hygienist and educator, who discusses approaches to conveying the importance of prevention. Her segment addresses how hygienists can tailor communication to different patient styles within limited appointment time, motivate patients who struggle with daily routines, and outline practical first steps for behavior change. The discussion also covers collaboration between dentistry and medicine, including referrals and oral-systemic health conversations for higher-risk patients, as well as the role of social media in shaping patient understanding and professional engagement.
Glauz is the founder of BrushwithBritt, a U.S.-based platform focused on prevention-oriented care and the role of hygienists in healthcare. Her work includes patient education, professional advocacy, and supporting integration of oral health within broader medical systems.
