Ivoclar and vhf camfacture AG have announced an expansion of their partnership with the validation of additional vhf milling machines for use with IPS e.max® CAD. The vhf Z4 and E4 models will be authorized for processing IPS e.max CAD using the PrograMill holder, joining the previously validated vhf N4+.
According to Ivoclar, the validation of these systems is intended to support reliable processing procedures and reproducible results. The company states that coordinated workflows contribute to process stability and provide dental professionals with greater assurance during fabrication.
The software update enabling this compatibility is scheduled to be available starting in November 2025.
Ivoclar recommends the use of authorized CAD/CAM systems for IPS e.max CAD processing. The company reports that these systems have been verified and adjusted to align with the material, supporting consistent results and process reliability. Milling strategies developed for these systems are designed to ensure accurate fit, edge stability, and efficient processing across various types of restorations.
IPS e.max CAD is a lithium disilicate glass-ceramic used in CAD/CAM fabrication of full-contour restorations. Ivoclar attributes the material’s performance to its high flexural strength, fracture toughness, and broad range of applications. The company notes that the material supports flexible chairside workflows and esthetically favorable outcomes. Ivoclar also cites clinical and scientific documentation supporting the long-term reliability of IPS e.max CAD.
