LuxCreo has received a strategic investment from Angelalign Technology Inc. to co-develop 3D printing materials for clear aligner therapy. The partnership will focus on advancing direct 3D printing capabilities and building a digital dentistry ecosystem to support more personalized orthodontic treatment.
According to the company, the collaboration will combine LuxCreo’s experience in direct 3D printing and proprietary ActiveMemory™ materials with Angelalign’s clinical expertise. The partnership will address areas such as material development, treatment design, and clinical application.
The companies plan to use the investment to support research and development of new materials, further development of LuxCreo’s digital platform, and expansion of its dental ecosystem. According to the announcement, the goal is to accelerate innovation in direct 3D printing and improve its reliability for clinical use by gathering large-scale clinical data and treatment outcomes.
According to LuxCreo, its ActiveMemory™ smart materials are designed to provide continuous and consistent gentle forces, which may improve treatment predictability and reduce treatment time. The company states that the materials allow for variable thickness, zonal elasticity, and microstructure customization, enabling clinicians to create individualized aligner designs for more complex cases. The company also reports that these materials may reduce the need for traditional attachments, offering improved comfort and aesthetics for patients.
Dr. Mike Yang, co-founder and chief executive officer of LuxCreo, said: “We are thrilled to partner with an industry leader like Angelalign Technology. Their deep clinical experience and extensive industry resources will amplify LuxCreo’s strengths in material innovation, automated production, and AI-driven digital dental platforms. Together, we aim to establish a more efficient and precise digital orthodontic paradigm that benefits patients globally through innovation.”
