The Aspen Group (TAG) announced a nationwide rollout of Planmeca digital imaging equipment at Aspen Dental locations. The implementation includes Planmeca’s cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) units, intraoral imaging systems, and software platforms. According to TAG, the goal is to improve diagnostic capabilities and streamline clinical workflows across its dental network.
Following an internal evaluation, TAG selected Planmeca’s Viso® and ProMax® CBCT units, as well as the ProX™, ProSensor® HD, and ProX™ GO 2D intraoral imaging systems for integration. These devices include features such as Planmeca CALM® to reduce image retakes caused by patient movement and the Planmeca Ultra Low Dose™ protocol to enhance safety while maintaining image quality. TAG stated that these additions offer a larger diagnostic field of view and aim to create a more efficient experience for patients.
TAG supports independent healthcare practices operating more than 1,400 locations in 46 states through five brands: Aspen Dental, ClearChoice Dental Implant Center, WellNow Urgent Care, Chapter Aesthetic Studio, and Lovet Pet Health Care.
Henry Schein, Inc., which has a longstanding business relationship with TAG, is supporting the installation and integration of the imaging equipment. The company’s network of more than 900 technicians will assist with the process. According to TAG, Aspen Dental locations will also have access to Henry Schein’s Protect Warranty Program for extended coverage and ongoing support.

TAG also announced that Aspen Dental offices will implement the Planmeca Romexis® software platform and Planmeca Insights™, a device data management system. According to the company, these tools will help monitor equipment performance, support predictive maintenance, and improve operational workflows.

The initiative expands on TAG’s existing relationship with Planmeca. The company’s imaging solutions are currently used across the ClearChoice Dental Implant Center network. According to TAG, the Planmeca Viso® system is central to digital treatment planning at ClearChoice due to its AI-supported image quality and low radiation settings.
