OrVance has announced the availability of a new Light Shade option for its Aligner Pontics product, designed to fill missing tooth spaces in clear aligners and retainers. According to the company, the new shade addresses the needs of patients with naturally whiter teeth or those who whiten their teeth.
OrVance Aligner Pontics were introduced in 2020 and are applied by patients to mimic the appearance of a natural tooth during aligner or retainer treatment. The company states that the new Light Shade complements the existing Original (Medium) Shade, which approximates Vita Shades A2–D2. The new Light Shade is intended to match Vita Shades A1–C1 and M1–M3.
“With the addition of the new Light Shade, OrVance Pontics replace missing tooth spaces in clear aligners and retainers for the full spectrum of common tooth shades,” the company stated.
According to OrVance, the pontics are dispensed for at-home use and can be applied in less than 10 seconds per tray using the included instructions or a QR code link to a demonstration video.
Dr. Christina Carter, orthodontist and pediatric dentist in Madison, New Jersey, stated, “OrVance® Aligner Pontics is a game changer on many levels for my patients who wear clear aligners or retainers. The material itself offers the most realistic appearance of a natural tooth, and very easy for patient use while taking the headaches of pontics out of my practice. With the convenient packaging and simple instructions, my patients easily apply the pontic in each tray in less than 10 seconds. What’s so unique about this product is that the permanently pliable material sticks in the tray and self-molds perfectly against the gingival tissue and adjacent teeth. My staff and my patients love this product.”
Ron Schutt, OrVance’s co-founder, stated that the expanded launch makes OrVance Aligner Pontics widely available to practices through orthodontic and dental product distributors, including Invisalign, Henry Schein Dental, Patterson Dental, Young Specialties, Benco Dental, Darby, GC Orthodontics, Great Lakes Dental Technologies, OrVancePro.com, and Orthodontic Supply Canada.
