Curve Dental has introduced a new insurance verification feature called Eligibility+, developed in partnership with DentalXChange. The tool is designed to streamline and automate the insurance verification process for dental practices, a task that has traditionally been time-consuming and prone to error.
Eligibility+ uses artificial intelligence to pull code-level benefit information from payer portals and compares it against existing insurance records. Discrepancies are flagged using Curve’s proprietary SmartSync™ technology. All of this happens within the Curve platform, eliminating the need for additional logins or manual phone calls.
“Insurance verification has always been one of the most frustrating and error-prone parts of running a dental practice,” said Jana Macon, President of Curve Dental. “With Eligibility+, we've reimagined the process to be smarter and faster than ever—empowering teams to spend less time chasing data and more time caring for patients.”
The verification process, which can take up to half an hour per patient under manual methods, is reduced significantly—potentially by 90 to 95%—with the new system. According to Curve, this change can help dental teams reduce administrative work and increase same-day treatment acceptance by making out-of-pocket estimates available more quickly.
Practices can also verify benefits in advance for all patients scheduled for the day, which may help prevent check-in delays and reduce the chance of missed coverage information.
What distinguishes this system, the company states, is the SmartSync comparison engine. While many verification tools retrieve raw data and leave interpretation to staff, SmartSync identifies and highlights changes from existing records, allowing updates to be reviewed and applied directly within the platform.
“This is the solution dental teams have always dreamed of,” said Dr. Eric Roman, dental entrepreneur and practice growth expert. “With SmartSync, I could have literally saved hundreds of tedious human hours per month. Everything is done for you—accurate, updated, and presented to your team without extra logins or searching.”
Eligibility+ aims to reduce both front office and clinical disruptions caused by unclear or incomplete insurance data. The goal is to provide all members of the dental team with the information they need to make timely and informed decisions.
“I've used almost all of the practice management software systems out there,” said Jennifer Santoro, dental practice manager for Colorado Dental Co. “None of them offer this level of integration. And in today's PPO-driven environment, tools like Eligibility+ are no longer a nice-to-have—they're essential.”
This launch is part of Curve’s broader AI strategy under its Curve FLO AI suite, which includes tools for automated note-taking, diagnostic support, and voice-to-text summaries. The company says its goal is to reduce administrative complexity and improve both operational efficiency and patient experience.
“With Eligibility+, we're not just digitizing verification—we're rethinking it,” said Suzanne Henderson, Chief Technology Officer at Curve Dental. “By combining current payer data with AI-driven comparison and review, we're giving dental teams a smarter, more intuitive way to get answers they can trust, right when they need them.”
Eligibility+ is currently available to dental practices in the United States. More information is available at curvedental.com/eligibility-plus.
