The American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA) has named Jennifer Hill as its new chief executive officer, effective immediately. Hill has served as interim CEO since July 2023, following a leadership transition.
Hill brings 13 years of experience within the organization and a total of 25 years in senior roles across healthcare-related associations. During her time with ADHA, she held leadership positions including senior director of strategic operations and director of member engagement. In those roles, she led efforts to improve member value, streamline internal processes and promote organizational growth.
As interim CEO, Hill oversaw multiple strategic initiatives. These included modernizing the organization’s governance model, strengthening advocacy efforts at both state and federal levels, and forming partnerships to broaden ADHA’s professional reach.
“I am honored to step into the role of CEO at a time when our profession faces new challenges and opportunities,” Hill said. “The dental hygiene profession is evolving rapidly, and it is more important than ever that we adapt, advocate and lead with a clear vision. My immediate priorities include leading the organization into its next strategic plan this fall, focusing on autonomy for the profession and improving key infrastructure to enhance the member experience. I look forward to working alongside our members and partners to create a strong, sustainable future for our profession.”
ADHA President Erin Haley-Hitz, RDH, BSDH, MS, noted Hill’s impact during the past year. “Jennifer has demonstrated commitment, insight and strategic vision during her time as interim CEO. The Board of Directors is confident in her ability to lead ADHA into the future and continue advancing our mission. Her experience and dedication to our members make her the ideal leader at this pivotal time for our profession,” Haley-Hitz said.
According to the ADHA, Hill’s permanent appointment reflects the organization’s continued focus on advancing the dental hygiene profession and supporting its national membership.
The ADHA is the only organization representing the professional interests of more than 226,000 dental hygienists in the United States. It publishes the Journal of Dental Hygiene, a peer-reviewed scientific journal issued bi-monthly.
