AskDentistry.ai, a recently launched digital platform, is offering dental professionals access to evidence-based answers powered by artificial intelligence. According to its developers, the platform combines a custom-trained AI engine with a curated database of peer-reviewed dental literature, clinical guidelines, and expert commentary to assist clinicians, researchers, educators, and commercial teams.
The platform became publicly available earlier this month and was demonstrated at CDA Presents 2025, held May 15–17, where attendees could test its features at a booth on the exhibit hall floor.
According to the developers of the platform, AskDentistry.ai allows users to obtain answers to complex clinical questions in seconds. The tool’s Pro version includes direct links to published studies and literature references with each response, enabling users to verify the evidence behind the information provided.
“We’re thrilled to introduce AskDentistry.ai to the dental community,” said Dr. Richard Price, professor at the School of Dentistry, Dalhousie University. “This platform is a game-changer—bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology and clinical care. By making accurate dental knowledge more accessible, we aim to elevate both education and patient outcomes.”
Dr. Mateus Rocha, associate professor at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, highlighted the importance of transparency in AI-generated content. “AI chatbots like GPT will always give you an answer, but can you trust it?” he said. “As a clinical professor and AI researcher, I need confidence that every response is anchored in peer-reviewed, reputable sources I can verify. AskDentistry.ai reveals the exact references behind each answer, allowing me to doublecheck a material’s clinical indication, advise a student or colleague on a procedure, or delegate a supply factcheck to my assistant. All with the reassurance that the information is transparent, accurate, and traceable.”
According to the platform’s developers, AskDentistry.ai was designed to reduce time spent searching through research databases or consulting multiple sources for reliable information. Organizations using the platform can also customize its knowledge base by integrating internal documents such as instructions for use, training materials, and support resources. This customization is intended to serve not only clinical staff but also sales, marketing, and customer service teams.
The technology behind AskDentistry.ai was developed using licensed research from Dalhousie University and the University of Florida. The team includes dental researchers and clinicians who contributed to building a domain-specific AI trained exclusively on dental content. The stated goal of the initiative is to make high-quality dental knowledge more accessible and support clinical decision-making with verifiable sources.
