Garrison Dental Solutions recently introduced the Quad Matrix System, a new sectional matrix system designed for use in challenging Class II restorations, including back-to-back, subgingival, and multi-tooth procedures, according to a press release from the company.
The system was developed through collaboration between Garrison’s engineering team and Matt Burton, DDS, a practicing dentist. According to the company, the Quad Matrix System incorporates features that support improved tooth separation, matrix stabilization, and cervical sealing.
The system includes several new components:
- Driver-Tip Quad Rings, featuring an asymmetrical tip to adapt to complex restoration sites.
- Split-Tip Quad Wedges, designed to work in combination with the ring to reinforce the gingival seal and support natural emergence profiles.
- Firm and Dead-Soft Bands, offered in a range of configurations to match different restorative needs, from single Class II restorations to adjacent preparations.
According to Garrison Dental Solutions, the Quad Matrix System can be used in several clinical applications. For adjacent Class II restorations, two matrix bands can be paired with one Quad Ring and one Quad Wedge. For deep caries, Firm Bands and Quad Wedges provide improved sealing when combined with the driver-tip design. In multi-tooth restorations, clinicians can use the Universal (blue) and Tall (orange) Quad Rings to shape contours and contacts.
The Quad Matrix System is currently available. Additional information is available at www.garrisondental.com.
