Reena.ai, an emerging AI technology company based in Scottsdale, Arizona, has filed a patent for its advanced communication platform tailored for dental and healthcare practices. The technology, known as “reena,” is an AI-powered, voice-activated system that integrates dental office technologies, enhances collaboration between healthcare providers, and improves the patient journey. According to the company, this innovation aims to optimize operational efficiency, improve patient satisfaction, and drive profitability within dental practices.
The core functionality of reena is its ability to facilitate seamless communication between dental professionals, specialists, and vendors, the company said. Dentists can now refer patients to specialists using simple voice commands. For instance, a dentist can instruct, “Hey reena, schedule an appointment for my patient with an oral surgeon as soon as possible,” and the AI will promptly connect with the specialist’s office, check availability, and offer time slots for the patient to select — all while the patient remains in the dental chair. Once an appointment is set, reena automatically sends the patient’s records to the specialist, creating a new patient profile and preparing the data for the upcoming consultation.
In addition to streamlining patient referrals, reena offers several features designed to enhance overall office efficiency. Hygienists, for example, can use voice commands to update patient records, schedule follow-up appointments, and generate billing statements. This eliminates manual data entry and reduces administrative workload, allowing staff to focus on patient care.
According to the company, reena also integrates with a wide range of existing dental technologies. This flexibility allows dental practices to choose their preferred AI tools and practice management systems for different functions. Robert Maynard, co-founder and COO of reena.ai, likened reena to an iPhone, with current and emerging AI solutions placed like apps in the Apple App Store, providing new companies and emerging technologies an affordable distribution platform.
Dale Ream, the company’s patent attorney, commented on the patent filing process, stating, “I have been a patent attorney for 28 years. Upon preparing the patent application, I asked if I could take the bulk of my fees in equity. I can count on one hand the number of times I have chosen to do this.”
Reena.ai is now accepting applications for its closed beta program, which is open to dental offices across North America. Interested practices can learn more about the program and apply at reena.ai/beta. Additionally, the company will be present at the International Dental Show (IDS) in Cologne, Germany, during the week of March 24th, where dental professionals can meet the founders in person.
Reena.ai was founded by Dr. Reena Gajjar, a prosthodontist, computer scientist, and AI specialist with training from Harvard, along with Robert Maynard, an experienced entrepreneur. Together, they aim to transform healthcare delivery through innovative AI solutions that improve collaboration, patient care, and practice profitability.
