CE: Soft-Tissue Reconstruction at Anterior Implant Sites With Soft-Tissue Dehiscences
Lorenzo Tavelli, DDS, MS, PhD; Giovanni Zucchelli, DDS, PhD; Hom-Lay Wang, DDS, MSD, PhD; and Shayan Barootchi, DMD, MS
The treatment of peri-implant soft-tissue dehiscence (PSTD), an esthetic complication of implant surgery, can be quite challenging for many clinicians. This article describes the treatment of this complication by means of a coronally advanced flap and connective tissue graft with submerged healing, as well as the clinical characteristics of the PSTDs, such as the buccolingual position of the implant, that are most favorable for treatment with this approach. A case presentation is included in this article.
