One of the foremost benefits of this single-shade, flowable composite, Rosenfeld notes, is that it allows him to greatly reduce the inventory of materials necessary to match the varying shades of patients' teeth. A reduced inventory translates to cost savings.
"Additionally, OMNICHROMA Flow eliminates the complexity of trying to select appropriate shades," he says. "Flowable resins, as a class of materials, allow excellent adaptation to cavity walls, the addition of exceptionally thin, uniform layers of material when desirable, such as in the ‘immediate dentin sealing technique,' the rapid filling of small preparations such as a buccal pit, and the ability to maintain the position of a matrix band. This composite allows you to do all of these things and also benefit from its unique ‘chameleon-like' characteristics."
