Dear Readers
Compendium features peer-reviewed articles and continued education opportunities on restorative techniques, clinical insights, and dental innovations, offering essential knowledge for dental professionals.
As a dental clinician and academician for the past 25 years, I have dedicated my career to the pursuit of clinical excellence, sound and relevant research, and quality dental education. If these attributes sound familiar to you, they should. In an ever-evolving world of dental media, Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry has long held a unique and steadfast place as a publication that stands for precisely these qualities.

It is, therefore, with great pride and gratitude that I begin my tenure as Editor-in-Chief of this esteemed journal. Compendium is a publication of integrity with highly relevant educational content for the practicing dentist that combines state-of-the-art clinical expertise with strong scientific rigor. Not only that, but the journal has had an extensive and deep association with one of the world's premier educational institutions, the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where I am currently serving as Professor of Restorative Dentistry, Chairman of the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences, as well as Assistant Dean for Digital Innovation and Professional Development. Continuing on the path established by our former Dean and founder of Compendium, the late Dr. D. Walter Cohen, and further developed by Dr. Louis Rose, having the opportunity to lead the journal into the future is not just an incredible honor, but a responsibility that I will meet with great enthusiasm.
I look forward to adding my voice and experience to Compendium. I believe I have much to offer in the way of providing direction on state-of-the-art clinical care, particularly in the areas of dental esthetics, restorative materials, and implant dentistry. I am excited to now be even more a part of the Compendium family and am certain that, even during these times of information overflow, Compendium's unique standing will allow it to continue to shine forth as a vital and sought-after resource for dental professionals.
I invite you, dear readers, to share your thoughts and suggestions with me, so we can together shape the future of Compendium and the direction of our beloved profession. Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,
Markus B. Blatz, DMD, PhD, Prof Dr med dent
